Kids school vacation- A visit to Jallianwala Bagh Memorial.
Jallianwala Bagh Massacare
Jallianwala Bagh Massacre took place on 13th April 1919 in Amritsar.
On Baisakhi, people gathered from neighbouring villages and were having a peaceful meeting. Suddenly, the troops of british army entered and blocked the passage with the tank. People were fired by troops of the British Army by the order of Colonel Dyer. Around 1000 were wounded. This was a very sad day in the history of India which we should never forget.
Martyr's Well- Around 120 men, women and childrens jumped into this well to save themselves from the brutual killing. Womens jumped into the well with their daughters so as to save them from getting raped.
Inside view of the memorial-
This garden(now memorial) is streched over an area of 5 acres. It has five gates and walls covering on all the sides.
Bullet Marks on the wall at Jallianwala Bagh-
Few more random pics-
When you enter this park, it looks like a general park, but when you look at the Marty's Well, Bullet Wall and take a walk inside the park, then you have a hair raising experience. I would say everyone must visit this memorial made in the memory of innocent people who sacrificed their life.
Coming up soon- Around 200mts from Jallianwala Bagh is Golden Temple.
